The McLeod Software Container module allows you to manage intermodal operations by tracking all container and chassis movements, exposing possible late return charges, rental fees, and tracking return/last free days. Because the container dispatch functions and live container information are integrated your McLeod system, everyone has access to the same information, and it flows seamlessly from order entry to planning to billing and settlements.

Improve Visibility of Containers and Chassis

Quickly monitor the status of each container movement with a dedicated Container Tracking screen that tracks unreturned and returned containers, container locations, days out and dates of return. The system helps you take action through alerts, based on your data for container status issues and days out thresholds to help reduce unnecessary detention charges.

The system allows you to establish fee schedules for container per diem.  Container free time is also tracked and displayed in the system.  The system allows you to track multiple containers, chassis, or other serialized equipment against an order, as well as giving you views of the entire container or chassis pools and their status. This global pool management reporting makes managing all of the containers and chassis in your custody much simpler by giving you an accurate real-time picture of status and location any time you need it.

Chassis rental fee schedules may be established in the system, as well as container rental schedules. These fee schedules are integrated with LoadMaster billing and accounts payable to seamlessly create billing invoices and accounts payable voucher.

Save Time and Increase Accuracy

Speed up your order entry process with a Recurring Orders feature that allows you to preset repetitive container information. Dray payments are set up as settlement schedules, similar to fee schedules, not entered on the order. This further automates the process by establishing point to point dray settlement pay schedules.

Create and Manage Bookings Master and Subordinate Orders Efficiently

The Container module gives you the ability to set up master orders and establish subordinate orders as a part of each master. For example, a single steamship booking may be entered as a master order with multiple orders for any number of containers, frames, and separate dray moves, all associated with the same master order.

This master order capability also makes billing easier, since it allows billing by the master order number. Container information can be displayed on billing records and printed on freight bills.

Simplify Your Dray Operations

Dray dispatch is simplified by a system feature that quickly allows scheduling of pickup and delivery at the line item level with a simple point and click. This is especially useful for repetitive short haul dispatch, and can even be used for “after the fact” dispatch using run sheets or other information that a driver may turn in at the end of a work day. This dray dispatch feature also creates dray move orders that flow through to the settlements and billing processes in your system.
